About Me
Jenni Parker
I am a retired university lecturer and I am currently enjoying contributing to the community through my volunteer activities, life-long learning, pottering in the garden, cooking, crocheting, making glass objects, socialising and travelling :)
I was born and raised in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and I moved to Perth, Western Australia in 1982.
As a child, my Father took on us many road trips throughout Australia, mostly on outback roads where we camped out in the bush. I think I have travelled on every road you can take between Sydney and Queensland.
I worked in the hospitality and tourism industry for many years and have lived and worked overseas: New Caledonia, The Maldive Islands and Senegal in North Africa. After working in North Africa, I backpacked around Europe for eight months and had some great adventures. On returning to Australia, I worked with a travel wholesale company, Club Med, for 11 years before transitioning into the vocational education and training sector (VET) and academia.
I have visited all the capital cities in Australia and travelled to/across our 5 Australian States and 2 Territories. Now that I am retired, I intend to document some of the wonderful journeys I have done both in Australia and overseas.
